The Snake Talk gives students of all year levels the opportunity to interact with Roxanne, Daradgee's Coastal Carpet Python in a safe comfortable setting.
Student experiences may include:
- Observing the needs of snakes and communicating their observations to others
- Recognising and comparing the common features of snakes eg. how they move, feed and live
- Identifying the importance of protecting snakes and their habitats and how this is integral to their survival
- Identifying the life cycles of snakes and their predator/prey relationships
- Recognising the behavioural and structural features and adaptations of snakes to their Australian environment/habitat
Duration: 60-90 minutes

Students may have the opportunity to touch Roxanne.
Teachers and students may communicate observations through digital photography.
The Snake Talk is usually conducted in the classroom with the aid of Roxanne and a PowerPoint presentation. Students may also experience Roxanne at the farm, covered area or on the grass to observe particular behaviours.
